On one of my many walks at a dike, I happened upon a Great Egret who was wading in the shallow water and stabbing the water for food. I watched it for a long time, its neck elongating, it's hunger, its hunting prowess.
I like to write Haiku poetry. This form of poetry originates from Japan. Haiku has a specific form: 3 lines, 17 syllables. 1st line has 5 syllables, 2nd line has 7 and 3rd line has 5. The subject of Haiku is nature. It's like a form of meditation for me as you have to immerse yourself in nature, connect with it and then express it. A very mind clearing and spiritual experience.
