Barb, I thought of you when I wrote this poem because I know you see this as I do when I walk. I am working on trying to describe the sounds of leaves when the wind blows through them. Not easy without sounding cliche but I'll keep trying.
the sounds of leaves falling can be amazing also. While on the trail I had to stop for i heard all this noise and thought it was an animal. It wasn't, it was the sound of many leaves falling. I could hear the wind playing with each leaf as it fell to the ground. This year on the trail with everything i have seen, smelled (YUCK, dead fish) heard and everyone i have exchanged pleasantries with, my senses have come alive. I LOVE the trail.Barb
I like to write Haiku poetry. This form of poetry originates from Japan. Haiku has a specific form: 3 lines, 17 syllables. 1st line has 5 syllables, 2nd line has 7 and 3rd line has 5. The subject of Haiku is nature. It's like a form of meditation for me as you have to immerse yourself in nature, connect with it and then express it. A very mind clearing and spiritual experience.
How timely. What a lovely thought.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! So MUCH said with few words. Barb
