Shadorma is a poetic form from Spain. It is a 6-line syllabic poem of 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllable lines respectively. I have been working with this form lately and came up with this.
In a dream
floating on my back
in a pond
lily pads
blanket my body snuggly
blanket my body snuggly
drifting to nowhere

Wow, combining heritage with poetry. Love it. Nice thought. I can feel it. By the way, we have lily pads all over the place all along our dock, only it's a river, not a pond.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have been busy taking pictures of those white beauties. Just drifting to nowhere would be just perfect about now. thanks for the poem. Barb
ReplyDeleteNice poem! You inspire me to want to try writing poetry just for the fun of it.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be a party pooper, but I see five lines, not six. Is that they way it's supposed to be? Just curious.
Good eye Rachelle! Now it has the 6 lines it should have. I just neglected to paragraph it the right way. These are fun to write. Try it out. Maybe something about your flowers and gardening.
ReplyDeleteA few posts ago, I did try it out on my blog. I will try to email it to you. Poetry is fun for anyone to try, but you have a GIFT. Very fun to meet you, by the way!

ReplyDeleteNot sure if this will work or not, but if you go to my blog it's only the 2nd post down. You are very inspiring! :o)
