Haiku
I like to write Haiku poetry. This form of poetry originates from Japan. Haiku has a specific form: 3 lines, 17 syllables. 1st line has 5 syllables, 2nd line has 7 and 3rd line has 5. The subject of Haiku is nature. It's like a form of meditation for me as you have to immerse yourself in nature, connect with it and then express it. A very mind clearing and spiritual experience.

Hopi Prayer
Do not stand
at my grave and weep.
I am not there
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand
winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints
on snow.
I am the sunlight
on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle
Autumn's rain.
When you awaken
in the morning hush,
I am the swift
uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars
that shine at night.
Do not stand
at my grave and cry;
I am not there,
I did not die
at my grave and weep.
I am not there
I do not sleep.

I have thought of such things since my 30's. And now even they are granular memories. Thank you for the reminder to assess and reflect on such things.
